• Having previously played for Go Ahead Eagles as well as Arnhem, Rai is an experienced 'keeper who has quietly played his part in United's recent success, both as a player and as goalkeeping coach at the club.
• Rai's United debut came against Aston Villa in September 1996, when he kept a clean sheet. His most notable appearance came against Borussia Dortmund in the semi-final of the European Cup, when Schmeichel pulled out with injury just minutes before kick-off. United lost the match 1-0, but Rai helped keep the score down.
